The project is based on a dialogue between two mediums - graphic drawing and hand embroidery. The original drawing by Maxim Savva, executed in the minimalist manner characteristic of the author, embodies a naive fantasy: a dinosaur figure and cute flames forming a strange, fairy-tale plot.
The embroidery carefully transfers this graphic gesture onto the fabric, preserving its naivety and vividness, but enriching it with texture and tactility. The simplicity of the stitches and the slightly uneven line emphasise the manual labour and add warmth and imperfection to the image, contrasting the material and tangible with the fragile plane of paper.
This collaborative project can be seen as an experiment at the border between craft and art, where drawing and embroidery work equally to create a poetic, ironic statement about fantasy, memory and childhood dreams.
