Collaboration with jewellery and accessories brand porodajewelry
This project is a subtle dialogue between two crafts, two artisans and two materials. Bronze and cotton thread meet, combining to create tiny but capacious works of art that can be worn as jewellery or viewed as miniature paintings.
Frames and gold bronze hoops, handmade by Anton -- the master craftsman behind the signature jewellery brand -- give the works weight, materiality and classic metal expression. Inside each frame, embroidery flourishes - vibrant, with warm, rich colours and a distinctive handmade texture. These two elements are not opposed to each other, but on the contrary, support and emphasise the individuality of each.
The subjects of the brooches vary: some of them are ironic, meme-like and touchingly playful images that appeal to popular culture and evoke a smile. Another part are poetic embroideries inspired by the paintings of Claude Monet: his water lilies, Japanese bridge and soft landscape in general find a new incarnation in textile miniatures.
The combination of the cold lustre of bronze and the soft texture of the threads creates the effect of a touching work: decorative but full of meaning. These works show painstaking handwork and careful attention to materials, which turn each brooch into a unique object that balances between craft and art.
