Hi! I am Alexandra, a textile artist from Berlin. I do hand embroidery, experimenting with different techniques and textures. I combine craft and modern visual expression in my work. I create embroideries to order, for free sale and also participate in exhibition projects.
About the textile artist and his work
Aleksandra is a textile artist and embroiderer specialising in hand embroidery and textile artwork. She lives and works in Berlin. Graduated Saint Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts (faculty of theory and history of art, department of foreign art | bachelor's and master's degrees) and Mstislav and Leopold Rostropovich Orenburg College of Music (violin).
Art practice:
  • Engaged in embroidery since 2021
  • Conducting masterclasses from 2022
  • Personal exhibition at the V. Mayakovsky Library (St. Petersburg, Sevkabel port), 2024
She works in ironwork and cross stitch, exploring embroidery as a form of artistic expression. She experiments with surfaces, turning a variety of objects into embroidery bases - from sneakers and autumn leaves to coats, shoppers, garments and textile panels. The main area of work is embroidery on garments, creating panels and brooches.
In her practice, Alexandra is in constant search of her own artistic language. She draws inspiration from rich life experiences and looks at contemporary art through the prism of art history. Her work focuses on abstract forms and text - fragments of prose and poetry from the 20th and 21st centuries.
